Samantha Carell is a contemporary artist whose work bridges painting, sculpture, and design through a career defined by experimentation, reinvention, and a deep connection
to water. Over more than a decade, Carell has developed a practice that moves fluidly between illustration, abstraction, and dimensional construction, integrating her background in design with
a material curiosity that continues to evolve her visual language.
Early in her career, Carell explored high-contrast abstraction, cellular forms, and the architecture of negative space. These investigations shaped her approach to surface, prompting an ongoing study of viscosity, flow, and the behavior of acrylic paint. Her shift toward mixed media and sculptural relief emerged naturally, leading to the development of her signature Aerial Beach Series, in which fluid acrylics and 3D-printed elements merge to create hybrid paintings that echo the movement of water from above.
Her public commission Arrival at Ocean Casino Resort (Atlantic City, 2025) established her as a regional force in contemporary coastal abstraction, while her exhibitions and awards, including Best Emerging Artist at the Manayunk Arts Festival and national fair participation, underscore her growing presence.
