About
Annette Sauermann creates architectural sculptures, drawings, and wall pieces that feature ambient light as material. As sunlight slowly shifts throughout the day, Sauermann’s acrylic sculptures adapt and react seamlessly. These transitions express how natural light acts as a constant covert companion in our everyday lives. She considers space as a part of the work she creates. Sauermann respects architectural individuality, strengthens it, even. The theoretical basis has given rise to an oeuvre that is both formally and technically uncompromising and richly varied in its artistic aspects.
