James Lomax Liminal State- Bronze and Amethyst Crystals
"My work is a reflection on the human experience. the mundane daily squeeze of humanity the pressure cooker we can live in, down to the daily grit under our nails. Through a lens of humor and hope with the wry smile and belief of the witch doctor, I create objects and images of the human form mixed with the precious and supernatural. Collaborations of forms that bridge worlds.

The human form is a canvas for my imagination, a vessel for expressing the fluidity of the human experience. We are endlessly captivating, our emotions constantly shifting. The body is a place of constant change, and I find myself drawn to the inexplicable, the unmeasurable essence that lies beyond the physical. It is this mystery that I seek to capture in my art."

Mathilde Lefort Prophecy I
There is in Prophecy the idea of an incantation, of magic words allowing to transgress the laws of reality. A golden melody emanating from the tormented depths of the ocean. A liquid knowledge subject to the interpretation of each and that each can seek in the sensations that awaken.
Mixing Gold powder and Iron, the scriptures of PROPHECY are as if corroded by time, already on the way to their disappearance. Evoking an ancient knowledge that modernity would have tried to erase, it imposes itself as the vector of an unnameable divine source. They appear and disappear like a breath whose echo resounds with a universal spirituality established in sensations.
In a world where the letters and the texts are present everywhere, these scriptures reveal themselves as a silent language established beyond the immediate meaning. Unreadable by the mind, the letter that has become a sign is now receptive to a new meaning given by the observer. Failing to be able to decipher them, it is a question of feeling them for their metaphysical and symbolic power.
Just as Kandinsky aspires to produce a painting capable of provoking a «spiritual awakening», PROPHECY proposes the construction of a new universal language based on sensations.

Mathilde Lefort Healing Gate
Through its elementary rectangular shape, HEALING GATE is conceived as an access route to the higher lights of this universe. A way to remember that the light always wins.
Born from the shamanic knowledge of the artist, these door is a pathway to higher dimensions. It acts as a catalyst for darkness, negative emotions and demons, transmuting them into light.
Using ashes to create her own black, Mathilde Lefort employed in this painting her shamanic knowledge to heal the sadness of not feeling loved at an universal level. Meditating with the ashes in her hands, she called in this specific feeling who is then transmuting into light by the gold mantrahidden in the middle of the piece.

Alternate Text

Mathilde Lefort HG001
HG001 is conceived as a shamanic mirror, a portal towards ones self
Using elementary geometric shapes – circles, rectangles and triangles – HG001 takes inspiration from the American minimalism tradition and its purification of the gaze. There is no attempt to represent an outside reality. This purification of the gaze brings the observation inwards.
The higly textured black bronze circle reflects the idea of an inner materiality made through the layers of the life experiences. Like layed stratum, the velvet craters are metaphor of the shadows of the soul, its pain and sufferings. Nested in the middle, the golden gate opens to the viewer to the light that lays within.
The triangle base, cut out of a lava stone from Letusan Gunung Volcano (Karangasem – Bali), acts as an anchor to the ground. Traditionnally used to build the balinese temple, its spiritual quality is reinforced by a firing process that turns the stone into Obsidian. Alchemised at 3000°F, the stone returns to lava, then completes its transformation to Obsidian as it cools. This mineral, in between stone and glass, conveys strentgh and grounding properties and is used by shamans as a mirror to read the future and observe personal truth. Carved and burned, the lava stone becomes an « ancient relic » transmitting a piece of code coming from the future.
Combined , triangle and circle embody the duality of grounding and elevation. In between past and future, light and dark, fragility and strentgh, HG001 is conceived as a gateway toward the self. A mirror reflecting one's shadows. It is only when we are willing to face our shadows that we can find the light within.

Alternate Text

Mathilde Lefort Mirror II
MIRROR offers doorways that open into a world beyond the visible. Extended to the viewer here is a space of contemplation. A filter for the mind.
Through the use of monochrome Mirror invokes the disappearance of painting itself in favor of object-painting. The artwork defeats the fictitious illusion of a third dimension and realize their own material reality, constructing an archetype of Zero form – a Nothing-Object containing infinity. The tension created between the flat surfaces and the appearance of negative depth engulfs the observer in a recessed space, absorbing them in an eternal distance.
These painting offers nothing to observe besides your own self. Black excludes the world, purifies the gaze and creates a psychological space where non-perception can only be reflected inwards, which is established by sensations, emotions and an awareness of the spiritual.
By providing this mirror to the soul of the observer, the works of MIRROR offers itself as a meditation on freedom and mortality.

Mathilde Lefort 888HZ
Based on Solfeggio Frequencies, HZ merges the healing potential of painting with the power of sound.
Following Kandinsky’s musical theory of the abstract artwork, the spiritual quality of a painting is established in its ability to vibrate in the eyes and therefore emits an inaudible sound frequency. With HZ, the rhythmic organization of the iron lines on the black background transmits specific frequencies that vibrate directly with the soul of the observer. A universal silent sound that promotes a return to spiritual order.
Minimal in its aspect, HZ intends to open a gateway in the interiority of the observer. An infinite universe present in each of us which can only be reached in front of the silence of the representation. By impoverish the exterior in order to enrich the interior, the magical power of the unseen is revealed.
CARVED FRAME
The burned and carved wooden frame cacts as an anchor to the ground. In contrast with the infinite distance creating by the artwork, the burned wooden frame connects with the earth elements. An invitation to stay present in the body while travelling in your inner reality. Through the delicate black mantras carved in all-over, the mystical dimension of the pieces reveals itself. Using meditation to access a specific state of consciousness, the artist-shaman uses theses scriptures to provide information that cannot be read by the mind but felt by the soul. A secret
language in direct link with higher realms.
888HZ is a frequency that reminds us of how we are all connected in some magical way, sending out our messages of wants, needs and desires to materialize subconsciously into the cosmos.

Wrought Iron sculpture

Nimrod began his creative life at a very young age sculpting in his father’s workshop. After travelling around the world for many years Nimrod finally settled in Marbella, Spain in 1999, setting up his own workshop and gallery. It was here where he began to develop his personal and direct method for sculpting. To date, his unique sculptures are greatly sought after by leading international galleries..

His craft involves working artistically solely from wrought iron. One of a kind sculptures are created using over one thousand individual pieces of metal. Ancient forging techniques are employed, welding, power hammering, plasma torch etc… all enabling the creation of textures, effects and shapes, rendering his sculptures highly unique in style and appearance.

These working methods permit a complete transformation of brutal, base metal into something beautiful, gentle, light, curvaceous… even soft.

The evolution of Nimrod’s work is held by a landscape of forms, from organic natural shapes, to delicate or muscular animals and expressive faces.

Yet long lasting focus and passion is found in the creation of his hugely popular graceful, sensual, majestic, often ethereal female torsos.

Don Valetto makes sculptures, installations and mixed media artworks. By choosing mainly formal solutions, Valetto creates work in which a fascination with the clarity of content and an uncompromising attitude towards conceptual and minimal art can be found. The work is aloof and systematic and a cool and neutral imagery is used.

His sculptures are based on formal associations which open a unique poetic vein. Multilayered images arise in which the fragility and instability of our seemingly certain reality is questioned. With a subtle minimalistic approach, he investigates the dynamics of landscape, including the manipulation of its effects and the limits of spectacle based on our assumptions of what landscape means to us. Rather than presenting a factual reality, an illusion is fabricated to conjure the realms of our imagination.

Salvador Dali was born on 11 May 1904 and is a Catalan painter, sculptor, engraver, screenwriter and writer. He is considered one of the main representatives of surrealism. The Catalonia of his childhood will always have a privileged place in his work as in his life. From a very early age, he showed an attraction for figurative art and painting, already revealing his original and inspired personality. He took private drawing lessons.

His parents had lost their first son, also named Salvador. The young Salvador was deeply disturbed when he saw his name on the grave. “All my eccentricities, all my inconsistencies are the tragic constant of my life. I want to prove that I am not the dead brother, but the living one”, he wrote. While Dadaism was at its height in Paris, Dalí was admitted to the San Fernando Institute, the Madrid School of Fine Arts.

In Paris, Dalí met Breton, Eluard, Magritte and Ernst. He officially joined the Surrealist group. In the summer of 1929, the poet Paul Eluard and his wife Elena (Gala) visited the painter in his house in Cadaqués. It was love at first sight between Dalí and this woman. She was to be his “surrealist muse”, the inspiration for his life and his work.

Dalí exhibited in Paris for the first time (11 paintings). During the Second World War, Dalí and Gala moved to the United States. They remained there until 1948. These years were very important for him. The Museum of Modern Art in New York offered Dalí his first retrospective exhibition in 1941.

In 1974, Dalí inaugurated the Teatro Museo Dalí in Figueras, Spain. This event was followed by retrospectives in Paris and London until the end of the decade. After the death of his wife, Gala, in 1982, Dalí’s health began to decline. He died on 23 January 1989.

James Edward Lomax is an English artist in his early 30’s. He studied art in Cornwall in the Southwest of England, where he specialised in sculpture. His prodigious talent was soon recognised, and he developed his own unique and exquisite approach to sculpting. He is currently based in Bali, Indonesia where he continues to experiment with different natural materials creating mystical sculptures for his many international collectors. He has exhibited at the Royal Horticultural Show in London for many years and is represented at The Englishman Fine Art in Naples, Florida.

"My works range within a unique and heady mix of resilience and brilliance, otherworldliness and science.
My current project, Seismic Pressure, is a liminal state series of the serene feminine, cast with bronze and crystals.
Humanity struggles and nevertheless it endures. With hope, humour and magic we are kept afloat. We are formed and compressed like malleable clay by our internal and external landscapes and in our present world state it feels somewhat like we are in a collective apocalyptic epoch.
Yet my work, like each one of us, is essentially full of optimism and growth, a signal of confidence and light in a seemingly darkening world. Crystals as an allegory again convey this purpose of polarities, of natural material subdued to such intense crushing heat, and somehow, this seismic pressure over decades, an age, or many lifetimes, has managed to birth something so exquisite, precious and wild, exuding promise and mystery.”

Mathilde Lefort is a french visual artist based in Bali, Indonesia Holder of a Master’s Degree at EHESS Paris (France), Mathilde is specialized in war representations and human rights. In parallel with her theoretical studies, she developed an artistic practice around these questions. Using art video, installation and visual publications, she exhibited her work both in Paris and across Europe.

Going back to New Caledonia, she lived in total immersion in a tribe located in the north of the island from 2017 to 2019. There she co-direct EDEN TRIBAL, 52 min documentary produced by Box Fish Productions and sold to France Television. The movie tells the story of a Kanak woman fighting to be the chief of her tribe, within the context of the island’s referendum for independence. This period was spent in a deep loneliness. Rejected by the community while deeply in love, Mathilde wandered the darkness of her soul. She captured empty landscapes and wrote the ambulations of her mind to reflect on her loss of identity, the meaning of love, the woman’s place, racism and colonialism.

Now in Bali, she follows an unpredictable journey intertwining art, death, and magic. Stabbed to death in 2020, she pursues today her shamanic journey while crafting abstract paintings and sculptures rooted in mystical knowledge. Her art presents itself as a meditation tool for empowerment.
