Stevens Dossou-Yovo was born in Paris in 1969. He graduated from the Penninghen Design School in 1990 where he studied graphic art and interior architecture. He initially started making anthropomorphic sculptures and automata from steel, and though remained true to his medium, he eventually moved on from figural representations to abstract. Since then, he has been exhibited all over Europe, including a solo exhibition at the Musée Saint-Germain in France. This exhibition at Waltman Ortega Fine Art is his first exhibition in the United States.
